At FUUSA, students have the opportunity to pursue Associate Degree, Certification, Master’s, Doctoral, and Postdoctoral programs, with workload and credit numbers varying according to the specific program.

There are several characteristics that make FUUSA programs a wonderful option for you, such as our low prices, payment options, credits accepted from other qualified institutions, and life experience credits at the Associate and Bachelor levels. Another important factor is the delivery of our courses, which are offered online, synchronously (live stream), some in-person classes, and asynchronously (100% on the student portal). Finally, many of these programs are available in three languages: English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Academic Year

For online students, our academic year consists of 12 months of classes divided into three semesters.

Transfer of Credits for Academic Programs

The university’s transfer policy is to accept college credits or seminars obtained at other institutions, subject to approval by the Academic Department after the evaluation of the student’s academic record.

Although not a requirement, preference will be given to courses taken at accredited institutions, whether in the United States or abroad.

Transferred credits require a minimum grade of “C+” (GPA 2.3 – 2.6). The university may award up to three credits per course, for a maximum of 50% of the credit hours required for the student’s program.

Florida University USA recognizes the sovereign rights of each institution to accept transfer credits. Therefore, the acceptance of transferred credits by FUUSA is at the discretion of the receiving institution, and it is the responsibility of the student to confirm whether the credits will be accepted by another institution of their choice.

Credit System per Semester for Academic Programs

Our credit unit is based on academic hours. One credit per semester consists of 15 academic hours. Our standard course is a three-credit course per semester consisting of 45 academic hours.

Labor Certification and experience

After validation, confirmation, and evaluation by the Academic Coordinator, Florida University USA may grant credits for life experience to students who are at least 30 years old if they meet the following criteria:

– Previous learning is equivalent to the learning level in which the student is enrolling.
– Previous learning demonstrates a balance between theory and practice.
– The credit granted for previous learning is directly related to the student’s course.
– In an associate degree program, we can grant up to six credits per semester for life experience.
– In a bachelor’s degree program, we can grant up to twelve credits per semester for life experience.

The recognition of professional experience involves a rigorous evaluation according to the official guidelines.
